New Venture Club review
Here is the review for our gig at the New Venture Club at Beeston in the Entertainer magazine, written by Big Mick:
"May 24th - WRATHCHILD - I first saw this act at a showcase and could not see them playing at our club, the dreaded word ROCK would not go down well with our members. With a change of committee and entertainment secretary, we now have a younger committee and received a call from another club saying how good Wrathchild were so we took the plunge and booked them.
I can't believe how well they went down. They were not loud, they played all the classic rock songs, and you know the whole show had changed since i saw them. We had one of our best nights at the club and i think everyone was surprised. All clubs need to book this act and forget about the dreaded word Rock, this is a quality show"

- Erm....just one thing, Our show hasn't really changed since you saw us Mick. You just saw 4 out of the 100+ songs that we do.....but the real irony: We played all 4 of the songs we did at the showcase at the New Venture Club.

Shades of grey
Well for once it didn't rain while we played at the Greyhound. A little thin on the ground when we first started but you eventually all piled in and made it another good night. An altered set-list to usual saw the disappearance of regulars such as "Sweet child o' mine" and "Gimme some lovin", Why? We didn't tell you this but Edd has been battling a cold all week and so we tried to steer clear of vocal killers which would have showed it up.
In their place went some rare tracks such as "Rocking in the free world" and Iron Maiden's "Wrathchild". Also included was a brand new original track "Innocence faded" which we took a gamble on........cos we've never even practised it.
